Onion Rings

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup beer
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tbs vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion

Directions

  • In a bowl, mix together flour, salt and baking powder.
  • In another bowl, whisk together beer, egg and vegetable oil.
  • Stir this into the flour mixture until it is well blended.
  • Peel 1 large onion and then cut into slices and separate into rings.
  • Dip onion rings into the batter and then deep fry in hot oil preheated to 350 degrees.
  • Once they are golden brown, remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
